Medical Specialty Care

Pediatric medical specialty care is for those patients who require long-term acute care with specialized nursing and therapy services. These patients may be stable but, have a catastrophic injury or illness, multi-system problems, require cardiac monitoring, require intravenous nutritional support, and/or long-term antibiotic therapies.

Our program focuses on interdisciplinary care for restoring optimal health and is designed for patients with the following:

• Catastrophic and/or Multi-system disease
• Infectious diseases
• Nutritional impairment
• Post-surgical complications
• Complicated fractures
• Decubitus ulcers
• Major multiple trauma
• Complicated diabetes
• Dialysis/renal failure
• Cancer therapy (with complications)
• Multiple system failure

Children's Specialty Care Services

• Pediatric cardiology, with electrophysiology, catheterization, ablation, echocardiography, pacemakers and defibrillators
• Gastrointestinal care for digestive disorders, gastric bleeding, malnutrition and reflux, with colonoscopy and endoscopy services
• Weight management with nutrition and activity assessment
• Diabetes and endocrinology, with insulin pumps and the newest medications and treatments
• Nephrology for children with abnormal kidney function, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, hypertension and other conditions
• Pulmonary care for respiratory diseases, cystic fibrosis and asthma, with bronchoscopy services and pulmonary function testing
