Pediatric Developmental Evaluation

Our highly specialized and caring staff is dedicated to providing a complete network of resources for children with developmental, behavioral, learning problems and genetic disorders. Our treatment centers function as a diagnostic, evaluation and treatment facilities involved in extending the limits and boundaries that frequently surround children with disabilities.

Our developmental evaluation clinics offer developmental evaluation services for infants, preschoolers, and school-age children. These services include:

  • Identifying developmental, learning, and social delays
  • Determining the significance of delays and behavior problems
  • Determining the need for further assessment/intervention
  • Recommending participation in educational or therapeutic programs
  • Linking children and families to needed services
  • Providing comprehensive reports to parents and providers

Our multidisciplinary teams are comprised of clinicians from a variety of disciplines. Core members of the teams may include:

  • Family
  • Licensed Clinical Psychologists
  • Speech and Language Pathologists
  • Physical or Occupational Therapists
  • Social Worker or Family Support Specialist
  • Consulting Medical Directors.

Audiology is available if appropriate. The composition varies according to the unique needs and choices of the individual/family.

Parents and other individuals involved in the life of the child being evaluated are encouraged to participate as essential team members, and the extent of participation occurring according to the individual or family's preference and comfort.

All team members are available before, during, and following the evaluation to consult with the family on questions about the process, assist with completion of testing, and/or to share information important in making accurate diagnoses or outcome statements.
